Dyslexia Screening Test

If you feel that you or your child may be showing signs of dyslexia, you may prefer to have them screened rather than rushing into the expense of a full assessment. We use the Screener (TOD-S) section from the new Tests of Dyslexia (TOD), which comprises three short digital tests which can be used with both adults and children from age 5/6 (Year 1) to identify whether they would benefit from further diagnostic assessment. The test takes about half an hour. Results are available within 24 hours.

The Process

TOD-S Dyslexia Screening Test

  1. Make a booking online from our website, by choosing an available slot on a suitable date. Please be aware that you may be allocated an alternative assessor from the one named on the booking slot. If there are no suitable slots for you, or if you would rather book directly than online, please do get in touch.

  2. If you choose to book online, you will be asked to pay an online deposit of £10 to secure your assessment slot.

  3. You will be contacted by a member of our team within 48 hours to confirm your booking, to give you the contact details for your assessor and to share the terms and conditions. This assessment can be done online or face-to-face in the Canterbury area.

  4. Your assessor will contact you directly at least a week before the assessment with a link to the online meeting (Zoom / Google Meet) which will be used for the assessment, and an invoice for the remaining fee of £40, payable before the assessment

  5. On the day of the assessment, you will need a quiet space with no interruptions or distractions. The person doing the test will need to share their screen via Google Meet / Zoom as they work, so the assessor can see what they are doing.

  6. You will receive recommendations on whether further testing is advisable within 24 hours, providing the invoice has been paid in full.
